I know I have been MIA the last month or so, but my schedule is finally back to normal with time to sit down and blog. I was the co-chair for a craft bazaar for a spouses organization. I love craft fairs, so I decided back in May that I would volunteer to plan & organize this event. The event was a HUGE hit and we had record crowds and raised a large chunk of money that will help provide scholarships for area students and adults. As fun as it was to work with my co-chair in planning this event, I'm relieved it is behind me and I can focus on other things in my life!
Here are a few pictures of the polar bear (Sgt. Ted E. Bear) that was painted by a class of soldiers for the Hollyday Bazaar. The only decent picture I got on my iPhone from the day of the event is Santa arriving. I was running around crazy the rest of the time and didn't even get a picture of me and my co-chair on my phone. Although we did get one with Santa, I just don't have it yet.
Here is the history of why Ft. Rucker has a polar bear!
Santa arriving by Fire Engine!
Back in October we needed a break so we took a little trip for a few days. Our go-to spot since living in Alabama has been Florida, but we have never spent the money to stay at a place right on the beach. We decided to splurge and rent a condo on the beach. The view from our condo was fantastic. I could have spent a couple weeks there. A full kitchen was included, so we only ventured out for breakfast one morning and an evening for dinner & walking along the boardwalk. I spent my morning out on the patio with coffee and a book and the afternoon lounging on the beach. Moving home to KS will be rough since there are no white sandy beaches 1.5 hours from home! Here are a few pictures from our trip, mainly of me since B HATES pictures.

Love the view from our room. I could have stayed here forever! Good thing we are going again over Christmas break. |

While out on our date at the boardwalk, a fishing boat had just come in and they were cleaning a little shark. |

At dinner, ordered a huge drink and it had a fun flashing light in it! |
Thanks for sticking with me on this post to at least catch up on two events from the past couple months. See ya tomorrow for Weekend Wanderings!
Til' next time,
