Relay for Life

This year I have stepped out of my box and joined the Relay for Life planning committee in Saline County. I am heading up the Mission/Advocacy Committee for 2008. I am having alot of fun with it. At each monthly team captain and planning committee meeting I do the "mission/advocacy" moment. This committee focuses on educating people by showing them the education and many programs that the American Cancer Society is involved in. It also focuses on educating people on issues relating to cancer and how they can possibly prevent cancer or have it detected at a very early stage. For the actual Relay in July I will have a booth for people to get education materials on anything from using sunscreen EVERYDAY to what individuals can do politically to impact legislation both in our own state and in Washington on issues relating to Cancer. I will post my "monthly Mission Moment" from now till relay so you can enjoy and learn from them as well. I encourage each of you to get involved in your local Relay, or even start yoru own team!
