May Walking Lunge & Push Up Challenge {Fitness Friday}

Can you believe it is almost May?  We are moving in about 1 month which means I will be wearing a formal dress for the graduation ball & a fun summer dress (if I find one) for graduation at the end of May.  Now it is time to get my arms & bum ready to wear my formal gown!

I started to do a 30-day squat challenge the beginning of April, but failed miserably and only ended up doing squats a few times this month.  EPIC. FAIL.  I'm moving forward and going into May with a dedication to complete a Walking Lunge & Push Up Challenge!  Will you join me??

Walking lunges are a great way to get your legs and bum in shape, they also work your core.  Want an added challenge?  Hold weights in each hand!  I also love adding a glute extension to my walking lunges. The video below shows you how to do a proper walking lunge & a glute extension.

Push Ups are a great way to tone your arms, chest, and upper back.  No sissy push ups for me this month, I will be doing the real deal.  If you want to challenge yourself more, feel free to do a more advanced type of push up. Check out the video below for the proper form for a push up.

Will you be joining me?  If so, let me know so we can encourage each other throughout the month.  Just let me know by leaving me a comment on this post, on Facebook, or Twitter.  Every Friday I will do weekly updates on how I am doing with the challenge.

Not sure the proper form for a walking lunge or push up?  Here are a couple videos to show you the correct way to do each of these exercises.

I will also be doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred in May.  Have you ever tried this workout? For a 25-30 minute workout it is tough!

I hope to have you join me for this challenge.  If you are not joining me, what are you doing this month for your health & fitness?

    1. Glad you liked the challenge idea. So far I'm doing ok on it, although the push ups are difficult. I do love the JM shred, even though it is an older workout it is great basic moves that do the job!

    1. I hate push ups to and have struggled so far even doing them the "regular" way so I have been doing 1 or 2 regular pushups and then doing as many pushups on my knees as I can do. Hopefully I will be much stronger with my push ups by the end of the month doing it this way. How are you doing on the challenge?
