Welcome to Virtual Coffee Tuesday. This is my first time linking up to Virtual Coffee Tuesday with Lucky Number 13. You might be thinking what this is, so here is how Amy explains it:
"Well, it's coffee online with friends. Wouldn't it be nice to get to sit down with some of your blogging friends each week and talk over coffee? I think so.
You could talk about the every day happenings in your life and your friends could do the same. Gossip, brag, complain, get advice, give advice, help each other out, laugh and just listen.
I started Virtual Coffee to give myself and others a chance to do just that.
It's not a planned out post, it's just talking over coffee.....about anything, just like we would in "real life". My readers have an opportunity to leave me comments and tell ME whatever they want to and I will listen. I love this casual weekly meeting because it gives me a chance to learn more about them and I get to listen to whatever they would like to share with me and the rest of the world. And I get to do the same."
So lets proceed with some chatting over a cup of coffee, glass of wine, or whatever else you enjoy to sip while talking with friends. I can not believe that it is Tuesday, I completely missed Menu Plan Monday. Tonight I enjoyed eating BBQ meatballs, mashed taters, and apple crisp (as soon as it cools enough. What did you enjoy for dinner?
I started working with a trainer last week at the gym on post. Since turning 30 a few years ago I have gained more weight then I feel comfortable with and realized I need to become healthier. Having a trainer will teach me the skills I need to get in shape, stay in shape, and live a healthy lifestyle for years to come. She is tough and reviews what I eat every week. She is making me eat more protein which is tough, but I am trying! I will be working out 6 days a week and I have several goals: lose a little weight, gain muscle, get my 5K time down to 28 minutes, and get back to having the majority of my diet be real/whole foods. This is definitely allowing me to step out of my comfort zone. I took a spinning class for the first time last week, even though I was VERY nervous about it, and loved it! I plan to take a Zumba class this week. I will keep you posted on my journey.
How was your 4th? Do anything exciting? Since Brenden did not get the weekend off for the 4th he has a 4 day this next weekend. I am taking Friday off and we are going to Destin, FL this weekend! We are hoping to rent jet skis and spend Friday on the beach. Saturday we are going shopping at the outlet malls.
I would love this to be a conversation between us so feel free to leave a comment with questions, thoughts, feelings, or anything else you would like to talk about...just like we were in a little coffee shop chatting face to face!
Well the apple crisp should be cool enough to eat, so I am going to have some with a cup of coffee in my Starbucks mug from Beijing. My great friend and roommate from college brought this back to me after her year in China. For those that don't know, I have a Starbucks coffee mug collection with mugs from many places. I'm always on the lookout for new mugs when we are in places!
Til' Next Time,
What a fun mug! Mmm...all this talk about food is making me hungry! It's not quite lunchtime here in Thailand, but I might just have to make an early start for some noodle soup or spicy papaya salad! Thanks for the coffee break!
