Last Sunday we had tornado warning early evening during study time early. We do not have anywhere to technically go for tornadoes other then a closet that has shelves installed so there is no way we could even fit in the closet. So our next best option is at the end of our hallway. I wasn't going to sit in the hallway, so instead we moved our study time to our bedroom in case we needed to dive into the hallway to cover for a tornado. I had our window open (BIG NO-NO with tornadoes) so I could hear if anything was coming. WOW...LONG explanation! Anyway, we studied while B kept an eye on the weather online.
Me being cheesy while we were studying.
It rained ALOT early in the week, this is my attempt at getting a shot of one of the times it poured.
For Book Club I made a Strawberry Cake. I had pinned this on Pinterest awhile back and was waiting for a good opportunity to make it. I thought the week of Valentines Day was a great time. I of course did not follow the recipe, and one of these days I will get around to sharing my amended recipe. By the way, if you are not following me on Pinterest yet, I'll make sure to follow you back!
Making the batter for the Strawberry Cake.
The yummy frosting for the Strawberry Cake.
Date night on Friday night to go to Dueling Pianos, getting ready for the evening!
My yummy Tequila Sunrise I enjoyed at Dueling Pianos. Since we are on a tight budget I limited myself to just 1 drink :(
Our drinks for the night--B had water and Pepsi, I had the Tequila Sunrise.
Almost finished with this scrapbook that goes through May 2004. I'm changing up how I scrapbook now, which I'll share more about another time. I like listening to podcasts while I scrapbook, clean, do dishes, cook, and more. I was watching the GFree and Happy Podcast.
Finished this scrapbook finally! Time to start my next book.
Getting pictures in order to begin my next photo book. I also spent 1+ hours in B's office going through a huge Rubbermaid container of army things (awards, coins, photos, and other memorabilia). I'll be working on both our personal family scrapbook and his Army book together.
We started P90X again today. We had started it prior to my surgery a month ago, but had to stop until I was released to exercise again. So nice to get back into our routine.
Besides spending 4 + hours on scrap-booking and organizing photos yesterday, I also caught up on reading blogs in Blog Lovin'. Nice to have "0" blogs listed to read!
I found Annie's Mac & Cheese at the Commissary this past week so I bought a few boxes for those lunches or dinners where I did not want to put much effort towards cooking. We don't eat boxed food much, but this is much better ingredient wise then Kraft or Velveeta.
I hosted an Origami Owl catalog party for my SIL awhile back and I just got this in the mail! So excited to start wearing it. If you are interested in earning free jewelry click here and she can help you out!
What have you been up to this past week? I would love to hear from you!
I'm linked up with Life On LeRoy for Life Lately Link-Up.
Til' Next Time,
Oh that frosting looks amazing, I would eat the whole bowl haha.
ReplyDeleteIt was really good. I admit I had a few taste tests before the cake was cool enough to frost.
DeleteThanks for joining the link up!!! and for stopping by sweet peas and lucky honey! Did you guys ever get that tornado??? Yummy looking drink!!! =) So girly!
ReplyDeleteNo problem. No tornado thank goodness! The drink was yummy.
DeleteOh my a tornado! Isn't it early for that? I wish I had a piece of that cake right now. :)

I dont think so for this part of the US, since living here we have had possible tornados year round. Actually we had tornado warnings for hours on Christmas eve or day (dont remember which day the storms hit) this year.
